MS Word Excel Cracker Cannot Open OLE Document: What You Need to Know

A Word document can become corrupted for several reasons that will prevent you from opening it. This behavior may be related to damage to the document or to the template on which the document is based. This behavior might include the following:

ms word excel cracker cannot open ole document

Just like any other software program, MS Word is also susceptible to issues. You will find unlimited queries on forum sites asking, "why won't my Word document open on my Mac." Most of the people have no idea why their Microsoft Word stopped working randomly. If you are also facing a similar situation, you will have to look for an appropriate solution to fix this issue.

Unless you have a brief idea about what caused the problem, you won't be able to steer away from the common errors. The user's listed common symptoms that lead to the "word won't open on my Mac" issue are given below:

I tried couple of options like enabling Options--> Advanced-->Gereral-->"Ignore other application that use dynamic data exchange (DDE)" but because of that now I can't open my excel file which has some excel file references in vlookup. When I try to open my excel sheet after enabling this ignore DDE option I get a blank excel workbook where everything is disabled and no row or columns are visible. As soon as I uncheck this ignore DDE option my file starts opening again. Is there a way to enable this ignore DDE option but along with that I can still open my file with formulas where I have references to some other excel files?

I got slowness opening ms Word and ole action error in excel due to cisco webex. I found the issue with cisco webex add in. Try below steps: open excel in safe or normal mode.go to File option - options - add-ins - under manage select COM Add-ins - click go. In the new pop up disable cisco webex desktop app option if it's enabled. I did same steps in MS word and MS excel. It worked for me.

The unsafe category represents any file name extension that may have script or code associated with it. You cannot open any attachment that has an unsafe file name extension. For a list of the unsafe file name extensions, see this Office support page. The following list describes how Outlook behaves when you receive or send an unsafe file attachment:

You cannot save, delete, open, print, or otherwise work with unsafe files. A message at the top of the e-mail message indicates that Outlook has blocked access to the unsafe attachment. The attachment is inaccessible from Outlook. However, the attachment is not actually removed from the e-mail message.

You cannot use the Insert Object command to open objects that are inserted in Microsoft Outlook Rich Text e-mail messages. You see a visual representation of the object. However, you cannot open or enable the object in the e-mail message.

You cannot open unsafe files that are stored in an Outlook or an Exchange folder. Although these files are not attached to an Outlook item, they are still considered unsafe. When you try to open the unsafe file, you receive the following error message:

Level 2 files are not unsafe. However, they do require more security than other attachments. When you receive a Level 2 attachment, Outlook prompts you to save the attachment to a disk. You cannot open the attachment in the e-mail message. By default, file name extensions are not associated with this group. However, if you use Outlook with an Exchange server and your mail is delivered to an Exchange mailbox, the Exchange server administrator can add file name extensions to the Level 2 list.

This scenario occurs if the workbook that you open was last saved in a version of Excel that's earlier than the version that you are currently using to open the workbook. This scenario occurs because Excel forces a complete recalculation of all open workbooks that were previously saved in an earlier version of Excel, regardless of the link update status. To fully recalculate a workbook, Excel gets the currently stored value of all external references from the workbooks external link table. This behavior occurs even if you decide not to update those links when you are prompted. Excel updates the workbook calculation chain to the current version of Excel. If the values of the external link sources are not available in the external link table in the workbook, Excel cannot calculate correctly. Therefore, Excel returns #REF! errors. This is also true of DDE links that are unavailable during the recalculation process. By default Excel saves a hidden table of the link values for calculation purposes. In some scenarios, the values for the external links may not be the same as what was last calculated in the formulas. It's also possible to turn off the feature to store the external link values on an individual workbook basis in Excel options.

The difference between this file and a traditional MS-DOS file is that multiple programs can read and write to these files without the original owner knowing about it. Additionally, document files have inherent properties that allow Word to create files and directories within files. At startup, Word creates one temporary (direct) document file called wrfxxxx.tmp. You can determine that it is a document file because the initial size is 1,536 bytes. This temporary document file is used to store all OLE objects that belong to unnamed documents, Undo, the Clipboard, and documents whose native formats are not document format (for example, .txt, .rtf, and Word 2.0 documents). Word can open document files using two different modes: transacted and direct. These modes are discussed later in this article.

Transacted files allow Word to open a file, write to it, and have other programs--such as Microsoft Excel--write to it, but still retain the right to restore the file to the state it was in when Word first opened it.To do this, the document file creates ghost images (typically dftxxxx.tmp) of all the changes made to the file after it was opened; if Word keeps all the changes, the contents of dftxxxx.tmp merge with the original file, and then saves a complete version of it. Conversely, if Word discards all changes, then dftxxxx.tmp is deleted, and the original file does not change. Word opens all of the Word native files using transacted files, which create ghost images in the Temp directory. When you start Word, Normal.dot is typically opened in transacted mode, and a ghost file is created for it called dftxxxx.tmp. FastSave, for example, merges these two files when a save occurs.

Word uses direct storage when opening the temporary document file and when performing either a Save As or a Full Save (non-FastSave save). This type of file is a low (if any) consumer of memory and does not create a ghost image when created or opened.

When you open a file that is locked, either because it is open in another window of Word or because another user on the network has it open, you can work with a copy of the file. Word places this copy in the Windows Temp directory. Likewise, if a template attached to a document is locked, Word automatically makes a copy of the template in the Temp directory. The copy of a locked file does not automatically update the original owner's file.

Word may be unable to create an owner file. For example, Word cannot create an owner file when the document is on a read-only share. In this case, the error message changes to the following error message:

Currently we're having a problem with an user who can't open excel (.xlsx) files from our network drives. When we are doubling clicking the file, we're getting the message: "Could not open \\.xlsx"We've also tried to open Excel first, then open it from the tab: File > Open. This is with all the files on our network.

The user worked on an Raspberry PI with an remote connection to our RDP server. He works alot in Excel with many lines and data in those files. So our RDP server got some issues when he works on it, because sometimes it takes alot of CPU & RAM from our server, so other users having some connection issues when he's loading a big excel file. We made an laptop (was used before in our company) with Windows 10 & Office Home & Business 2010 so our RDP server won't be overloaded from this user. We've used an clean install and we can see all our network drives. But we tried to open an Excel file, it didn't work (Also Word, Powerpoint doesn't work).

The code in the method 2 worked very well for me on one agenda with embedded documents related to each agenda. However, the embedded documents on a different agenda were of a different type, still word documents but which did not get recognize by: ObjEmbeddedShape and thus it does not execute the saveas command. Is thee a different type of embedment?

One of the issues you can encounter while using Microsoft Office on your Mac is that Microsoft Word won't open on Mac. When the app does not open, you cannot work on any of your documents, and this can leave helpless as in most cases you do not even know what is causing the issue.

Hi,I am creating docx file with phpword but after creating docx file it's showing error "the file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents" if i clicked on details buttons. it's shows equal expected. Location: Part: /word/document.xml.Can you help me please .?Thank you,

HI, IM GETTING THIS ERROR MESSAGE. THE OPEN XML FILE CCW WINE .docx cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents or the file name might contain invalid characters (for example, V)

DISCLAIMER This worked for me and I have documented it here in the hope it will help someone out. I have not fully tested it. Please be sure to save all open files before proceeding with this option.

*NOTE: Be sure that you have changed the password to a new value, otherwise the next time you open the spreadsheet Excel will report errors (Unexpected Error), then when you access the list of VBA modules you will now see the names of the source modules but receive another error when trying to open forms/code/etc. To remedy this, go back to the VBA Project Properties and set the password to a new value. Save and re-open the Excel document and you should be good to go! 2ff7e9595c
